ALERT! Protest Madagascar's Legalization of Rosewood Log Export from Protected National Parks
Delmas shipping, a subsidiary of French shipping giant CMA-CGM, is being pressured by the transitional Madagascar government to ship hundreds of containers of illegally logged ancient rainforest logs from Madagascar to China anytime soon. Post-coup illegal log and wildlife trade continue to threaten Madagacar's biodiversity rich rainforest remnants, ecological sustainability and future potential for national advancement.

Hi James,
It looks like my protest bounced back, but I can't read French so can't be sure. Here's the responding message I received:

No surprises there! lndonesia has been doing the same for years, Last count was 39 out of 41 national Parks logged so the PALMOIL INDUSTRY can rape and pillage the rainforests killing 55 Orang-utans every week along with countless other animals, plants and birds.
Malaysia stands by and lets this happen in Borneo and her homeland itself

I thoroughly deplore this fall from grace to the logging industry and trade only interests by the President of Madagascar.
To me A) It is a government sponsored scam to defraud. B) It also more or less leaves the illegal logging industry a double indemnity to continue their illegal activities in Madagascar and destroy valuable biodiversity.
All this is happening while 2010 is the Year of Biodiversity, an impending international conference on the subject and a country - MADAGASCAR - that is a recognised hotspot of biodiversity.
